Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-06-16
1. Publisher
fckurl ("the Service") is published and operated by Cognitys. By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The service
fckurl is a URL shortening service that generates short links redirecting to a destination URL you provide. Shortening is open and does not require an account; an optional account unlocks a dashboard, custom domains, and API access.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to create, store, or distribute links to:
- malware, phishing, or fraudulent pages;
- content that is illegal under applicable law, or that infringes the rights of others;
- spam or unsolicited bulk messaging;
- material that is abusive, harassing, or otherwise harmful.
We may disable or remove any link, and suspend any account, at any time and without notice, where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your credentials and API keys secure. You must provide a valid email address and confirm it before signing in.
5. Custom domains and API
If you connect a custom domain, you confirm that you control it and you authorise fckurl to serve short links from it. API access is provided subject to fair use; we may apply rate limits to protect the Service.
6. Availability and changes
The Service is provided on a best-effort basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of it, and we may update these terms; the version published here is the one that applies.
7. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cognitys shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, nor for loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the Service.
9. Intellectual property
The fckurl name, brand, and software are the property of Cognitys. These terms grant you no rights in them beyond using the Service as intended.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to the Service falls under the jurisdiction of the competent French courts, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that may apply to you.
